 Dr. Russell Mullen is a board certified orthodontist who grew up in Springfield, Virginia as the oldest of four children. He went to the University of Virginia and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, then attended the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He then completed a three-year orthodontic residency at West Virginia University, and earned a Masters of Science in Orthodontics .
Dr. Mullen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, and is a member of several dental and orthodontic study clubs. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an achievement earned only by about 25% of practicing orthodontists. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and is line to serve as President of that group in several years.   
Being up-to-date in the latest orthodontic techniques and treatments for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients has always been a priority for Dr. Mullen. He is well versed in Invisalign, and uses the latest technologies in orthodontics to maximize smile aesthetics and give the best possible results to his patients.  
When not working, he is most often spending time with his wife and three young children. Dr. Mullen also enjoys hiking, competing in triathlons, and mountain bike racing.
